Default What is my quickest way to last 3 points for 30/50?

Hi all,

So I have been playing GW2 quite happily for a while, but there is a niggling feeling that I got so close to getting 30/50 that I should really pop back into GW and sort it out.

I have been out the game long enough to get confused by what is actually doable any more. I wondered if someone would be kind enough to have a look at my HoM and suggest my quickest route to three more points given the current game outlook. Has any of the armors/weapons acquisitions got easier? Any mats that have sky rocketed in price due to lack of players that I should check my characters for?

Any help much appreciated.

Not knowing your financial situation, and assuming you have been saving salvaged materials, a couple more elite armor sets. Then, I would look at tackling one of the "end game" areas. In my opinion, Sorrow's Furnace should be the quickest.

The HoM isn't very specific and I don't know how much platinum you have so I'll just say which points should be fairly easy or quick for you to acquire. So, you could:

1. Dedicate 10 or 20 more miniatures for 1 or 2 points. You can choose from 20 white minis, 8 purple minis, and 8 gold minis from anniversary presents. But I'm not sure if you got your Black Moa Chick or got lucky with minipets from other sources.

2. Get 10 more companion statues for 1 point. Since you've finished Cantha, you can get an Imperial Phoenix and then level him up yourself or pay zaishen coins. I could also help you get the Black Widow Spider. That leaves 8 heroes that will need an armor remnant, which shouldn't be too hard. I see you've already got the 5 easiest armor remnants, which is smart. You could get 5 more from the Shadow Nexus and then 3 from the Remains of Sahlahja or from Glint's Challenge

3. Buy 2 more armors for 2 points (or 3 points if one of the armors that you buy is Vabbian). Again, I don't know how much platinum you have.

4. Buy 1 more Destroyer or Oppressor weapon for 1 point.

5. If all of previous options are too expensive then you could either get all 3 Guardian titles or farm some of the reputation titles for 1 point (or 2 points if you do both).

I wouldn't mind helping you with some of these tasks. My IGN is Schmedro Ravissen.

Thanks for the replies guys. I think at this point it would be best to get on my account and check what I've got. More information would aid in the decision I think.

@Schmerdro: Thanks very much for the offer of help. I will add you and hopfully grab you in game. FYI, I am UK based and unfortunately limited to one main, a Warrior with IGN Brix Kraven.

Hi again. Ok so this is where I am at. Here is a shot of my bank with all my funds and mats other than a few more stacks of the super common ones.

I also have 5 Medals of Honor, with the capacity to earn some more via the remaining Hearts of the North quests. So it would seem that another Oppressor weapon is a good idea, giving me one point.

Then...well what do you think? Do I have enough to buy me 7 more un-dedicated minis (i added three more from presents last night), and an armor set? Or even two armor sets? If I could get away with not grinding EotN rep then that would be great, but I know they are the least expensive sets for me now.

RE: Mini pets. I got my green from the Nightfall collectors edition. As far as I know, I haven't got any minis that aren't from presents. Either ones I've opened or ones others have opened and then traded.

Btw, I tried adding 'Schmedro Ravissen' and it said the name didn't exist.

Thoughts?

Hey

I saw your bank box, and I figured I'd give you some minis free of charge, as I have a few Unded ones sitting around I'll never use, and I can't be bothered to sell them

Look for me ingame, my main is called Max Borken, and I'm usually able to get on after 9pm UK time.

Max

Thank you very much Max. Hopefully I can get a few that aren't duplicates, if you still need to dedicate any then I will happily trade if I happen to have any you don't have.

I'm not sure when i'll get chance next but I add you to my friend list and whisper then I spot you.

Oops, I mis-spelled my own name XD Just add "Lily Ravissen", that's my newest character :P . I did see you online yesterday and I'll whisper you today, if I see you.

Now about that EoTN reputation. Do you have any rank that is 5 or above? Because you need to have that before you're allowed to craft the EoTN armor and, as you said, EoTN armor is the cheapest. If you do have the ability to buy 2 more EoTN armors then I wouldn't mind giving you the money to buy them, since it wouldn't cost more than 150k. And, if you're only rank 4 or below, then I could help you do a quick HM dungeon or a vanquish in order to get the reputation. This would probably be much less hassle than getting the rest of the minipets or the armor remnants that you need.

Hi. If you are still in need, I have 2 minis that I can give you. A Cave Spider (3rd year white) and a Dredge Brute (4th year white). I have no use for them whatsoever, and would be happy to give them to you My IGN is Whispering Skye. I am in EST.

Hi guys, back again.

Just to say thanks for all the offers of help. I suprised myself and manage to make 30 in one evening. Turns out I had enough for one set of Armor, and Schmerdro very kindly gave me money for a second set, and a few mats.

Finally I sold *ALL* my mats and stripped *ALL* my heroes and managed to get enough to buy an oppressor weapon outright!

So I am now 30/50 and happy. Thanks for the help guys. My account name for GW2 is JimmyDeemo.3170 if any of you play, please add me.

The GW community is, for the most part, a good community. Being helpful is a good thing, but I question giving so much to someone that will probably never logon to the game again. Being rewarded based on another person's generosity. Alas, it is just a game.

As it turned out I had the ability to get to 29/30 under my own steam. All that really changed hands were 60k and probably 20 Steel Ingots. But it was all relative, yes Schmerdro kindly gifted them but, in his situation it was a 'drop in the ocean' so to speak.

Also please don't think that at any point I wasn't super grateful for the assistance.

I do understand your point, but it's not like I got boosted a massive bunch of points. I totally reserve the right to chase those titles and GW2 achievement point too, so I wouldn't say 'never log in again'.

If it helps preserve the 'balance' then I'd be happy to gift anything that might help others. I have a load of undedicated mini's that were duplicates for me, for example. Just let me know.

You're welcome Jimmy As I said before, it was no trouble. I've achieved 50/50 HoM a long time ago and I really had nothing to do with my money, even though I still play and, subsequently, gain more of it XD

And to Perkunas, I only gave him around 65k and helped him do Abaddon's Gate to buy Primeval Armor. I was about to convince him to do some EoTN dungeons or vanquishing in order to be able to buy 2 EoTN armors (because his other EoTN titles were only rank 3) but when he said that he "may have to bite the bullet" and do as I advised him, I realised that he wouldn't be enjoying himself and that maybe GW just isn't the game for him.

Edit: Jimmy, you don't have to feel guilty for asking for help. I can use my in-game gold however I want and I've helped many of my other friends with buying Obsidian armor, minipets, or weapons in the past

It really does not matter to me who does what in this game. In the not too distant past, people who had bought GW2 got GW1 just to get the "rewards" for GW2, but did not want to play the game at all. That was more where my comment was targeted.
JimmyDeemo, you had already had a good start, and just needed a helping hand. Unlike several others that wanted their entire HoM handed to them. I am glad that you were able to reach your goal.

Congrats again on your 30/50 Jimmy. It was nice to have had the few minutes in game to speak with you yesterday, although by the time I got to you, you already had it It was refreshing to know that you were not being greedy when I queried as to whether or not your still wanted my minis and you graciously declined.
